SMT reflow oven production precautions during the first mass production stage


The first mass production stage of SMT reflow oven refers to the batch production of models that have been improved through trial production. There are also some models that are put into trial operation and mass production at the same time. Generally, the batch size is above 100, and the following should be noted during production:


1.SMT reflow oven preparation:

(1)Understand the production arrangement of reflow oven with procurement;

(2)Preparation of SMT materials (schematic, SMT diagram, BOM table, FW, driver, burning tool);

(3)Understand the basic functions of the model, develop testing procedures and projects;

(4)Understand the post welding components of PCBA, develop post welding processes (prepare SOP as much as possible), and clarify post welding precautions;

(5)Master the method of strong burning FW on the model;

(6)Develop the process requirements and production precautions for the entire PCBA;

(7)Clarify the condition of the testing fixture and ensure that it is OK. Try to find a sample for testing;

(8)Understand the accessories and equipment required for testing, special equipment needs to be proposed in advance, and test accessories need to be prepared in advance;

(9)Prepare the sample.


2.Confirmation of reflow oven materials and information:

(1)Firstly, understand the material preparation situation. Whether the materials are complete will determine the production schedule, and any incomplete materials should be immediately reported to the factory;

(2)Confirmation of key materials, such as versions and part numbers of major materials such as FWIC, BGA, PCB boards, etc; Material confirmation requires checking the BOM;

(3)Generally, IQC and material personnel from manufacturers also inspect materials. If there are any non-conforming materials, they should immediately verify with the development engineer;

(4)Materials that have undergone changes after trial production.


3.First piece confirmation for reflow oven:

(1)First piece confirmation for SMT reflow oven, pay attention to the direction and specifications of the main components, check the first piece records of the SMT reflow oven manufacturer, and verify the samples at the same time;

(2)After passing through the furnace, it is necessary to check the tin consumption of each component and understand the furnace temperature curve (which can be retained);

(3)Guide the first piece post welding operation, confirm that all post welding components are correct and must meet the process requirements, and check the SOP of the corresponding post welding station;

(4)Follow the testing process to guide functional testing and ensure that all major functions of the PCB are tested.


4.Analysis and confirmation of defective reflow oven products:

(1)Understand the pass through rate of the test, identify the main defects and their causes, and record them;

(2)Immediately provide feedback on SMT reflow oven issues and request immediate control in the front section;

(3)If there is a material issue, please provide immediate feedback to confirm whether it can be produced, how it will be produced, and it is best to take photos for record keeping.


5.Feedback on reflow oven information:

(1)Feedback on SMT reflow oven production issues to the person in charge of the production technology and model, reminding them to pay attention;

(2)Collect assembly issues within the factory, provide feedback to the responsible person, and request improvement.
